My journey with Craniosacral therapy began in 1997 when I attended my first Craniosacral class at the Upledger’s Institute.
I realized then that this approach spoke to me like no other form of bodywork I have ever done. It was different from anything I expected and experienced until then.
After completing the basic training with the Upledger Institute, I was introduced and trained with Roger Gilchrist in the biodynamic approach (750 hours) which took me deeper into the fascinating work of the fluid body, trauma resolution, and the Primary Respiration. I began listening to the body in a new way, shifting tissues without employing any pressure. I became more and more familiar with the fluid language of the Primary Respiration.
I was also getting good results with challenging issues and realized that working that way was effective and precise clinically, emotionally and spiritually. I was fortunate to assist Roger Gilchrist in the Biodynamic basic training in New York City.
My own approach to the practice and teaching of Craniosacral therapy is, of course, a mixture of all of the various schools and teachers I worked with, plus many other years of training in other “mind” modalities including DreamWork, imagery for transformation, and Focusing.
As a teacher I choose to teach some aspects of biomechanics along with the more delicate work of the biodynamic.
I am a former teacher at the Swedish Institute for Massage Therapy in NYC, where I taught for nineteen years. Continued interest from students and faculty resulted in my forming continuing education classes on various topics in Craniosacral Integration. MY classes have been taught in private institutions and massage schools in New York State.
My training and professional experiences in the last 30 years as a licensed massage therapist, a registered Biodyanamic Craniosacral therapist, a Transpersonal therapist, self realization coach, a Focusing advanced practitioner and an expert teacher and practitioner in transformational dream and imagery work, has deepen my work considerably and has kept me involved in many cross disciplinary ventures.
My passion is teaching. I have been a teacher at the Swedish Institute for Massage Therapy in NYC for 17 years, and am a certified teacher who works locally and internationally through the School of Images in NYC (www.schoolofimages.com) under the supervision of its founder Dr. Catherine Shainberg.
I have also developed many others cross disciplinary workshops in the field of immunology and health, a mind body approach to calm your stress and anxiety, and more.
I am currently in the process of developing a full program teaching Craniosacral Integration Therapy for the ones who are curious and interested in deepening their skills and knowledge in the field of Craniosacral but are not ready to invest huge amount of time and money in training.
